Up to now, fabrics with particularly functional requirements have been made of synthetic fibres because natural fibres such as wool could not facilitate properties such as water resistance. With NanoSky Tex it is now possible to “integrate” functional properties such as water repellency, breathability and fire and moth resistance to natural fibres. With NanoSky Tex natural fibres become all-rounders.

Johannes Regensburger’s sheep wool centre in the Oetz valley, Austria was being threatened with closure. The hardworking shepherd could not find any use for the excess wool. The wool could only be marketed as an insulation material if it was fire and moth resistant and contained no added toxic substances. NanoSky Tex was developed according to these strict requirements. An impregnating agent that would make natural textiles and leather impervious to water and dirt but also keep them breathable. Thanks to other “additives” NanoSky Tex also reduced flammability naturally without any toxic ingredients. Another contribution from NanoSky for the protection of the environment.

For Johannes Regensburger in the Oetz valley a stable, economic future was guaranteed. “Thanks to NanoSky Tex we can now use the wool for high quality products,” says Regensburger. Since then other textile manufacturers have also recognised the economical and also ecological advantages of NanoSky Tex.

Whether silk, cashmere, linen, wool or cotton – we can make beautiful even better. Why shouldn’t that gorgeous silk blouse also be water resistant?

Are woollen coats making a comeback for mountaineers?

Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay, the first men to climb Mount Everest, wore woollen coats on their trek. Future mountaineers and other top athletes could once again return to these roots. Natural fibres treated with NanoSky Tex need not fear comparison with modern high-tech fibres.
