NanoterraSoil (NTS)

Imagine that the amount of roadworks was cut by about half because the base layer (road foundation) lasts twice as long as usual. With the NanoSky material NanoterraSoil this is possible.

The director of the Brenner Autobahn, Austria had a problem. Immense frost damage meant that emergency repairs had to be carried out. Repair work in the middle of winter with the mercury at rock bottom? That would have been risky – at least it would have been with a conventional road construction methods. The solution was an unconventional, unknown nanotechnology, to be more precise NanoterraSoil (NTS), a high-tech polymer which is mixed into the existing base layer of the road and is made stable due to the nanoparticles. At a temperature of -12°C the existing road cut was mixed on-site with NTS and cement and immediately built in as the new base layer. The advantages include short construction time, less road transport, less CO2, higher flexible tensile strength and greater density of the base layer which ensures higher frost resistance and less repair work.

In short – more economy and more ecology. The success spread like wildfire – all the way to Siberia, Libya, Algeria and Tunisia. For a long time NTS has also been present in other international tenders. And it’s not alone – there is now an entire product range of materials featuring our patented nanotechnology: NanoSky Concrete, NanoSky Safe (for rubbish dumps and dams) and NanoSky Drain (ideal for nature reserves). All innovations that enable a great environmentally-friendly solution.
